So it's my birthday in a week, and I'm seriously wanting a kitten. After drooling over some of the most adorable kittens I've ever seen, I found my guy. He's a Hemingway Polydactyl, meaning he has extra toes and is thereby, extra cool. I doubt if I'll end up with this lil guy, but a girl can dream...

The Wrigley Building. I chew your gum, every day Mr. Wrigley.
The Field Museum is just as awesome inside as out.
Outside of the Art Institute Art Museum... Second only to my dear Public Library lions in New York...

We got back from Chicago on Monday. We had an awesome time, visiting the Field Museum (Hi, Sue!), Shedd Aquarium and had various other sightseeing adventures. We also ate pizza every day we were there, and attended a quaint little music festival called Lollapalooza, you may have heard of it? Thursday it was gorgeous, Friday it monsooned all day, and Saturday and Sunday it was almost a hundred degrees (both days, not like, total.)
This week I had to get a new battery for my aging Powerbook, but I think he's good to go for a while, at least. It's nice to have him back, oh how he was missed.
Still editing photos for the shop, if you liked the sneak peek (below) keep checking back. And if you didn't like it, keep checking back too. The shop site is inching closer and closer to launch, and special secret delights are in store. Your patience will be rewarded :)

FINALLY got my ass moving this weekend and started photographing the debut items for the shop. I was pleasantly surprised how fun it was, and the camera my man loaned me was amazing. Photo editing and site tweaks this week, and hopefully the shop will be up and running in the next couple of weeks.
Going to Chicago this weekend for Lollapalooza and to visit with some old (and dear!) friends — I'm SO ready for this vacation. While you wait (still patiently, I hope!) for the shop to be up and running, enjoy this sneak peek from the "Kitchen" section. I hope you see something you like!
