OMG shoes.

If I currently had more than $6 in my bank account (thank you BMV and well, probably Starbucks) I would be tempted to buy a pair of these amazing Moto boots from Piperlime (owned by the Gap, who knew this?).

I decided to check out their website because I watch Project Runway and they mention it about a gazillion times an episode (that, and I'm easily swayed by product placement, anyway) and I'm glad slash mad I did. I mean, these boots are everything I've been looking for and more. Too bad they're more than six bucks.

Faux Fur 'Writeboard'

How amazing is this 'writeboard' from designer Goncalo Campos? I want one, and today is my birthday so you have to buy me one (that's how that works, right?).

PS: That's not Mozart, but it could be her sister, which is all the more reason I need this board (and another cat too but that's another story).

Your Weekly Mozart...

Mozart gets a little jealous of *other* composers...

OMG TEA TOWELS

So if you're not already familiar, just know that I have an enormous unchecked obsession with tea towels. I want them, I buy them, I display them, I drool over them, I respect them, I tuck them in at night and read them bedtime stories. Ok, so some of that is me exaggerating, but for real, I FUCKING love tea towels.

Today I found these beauties from amazing illustrator Charlotte Farmer, and I'm most definitely in love. Who says it's improper to buy yourself a birthday present? That's ok, right?

PS: Hey it's my birthday (Aug. 31st)! Hey I'm going to be 25! Hey go to shop RIGHT NOW and get 25% off your order of $25 dollars or more (only until the 31st)!

Peaches!

Last week I bought a truckload of peaches from a local farm (it was more like a box, but it contained a seemingly bottomless wealth of fruit) and I've been eating basically nothing else since. They are amazing and delicious and juicy as eff but after eating my weight in peaches I've about reached my limit. They all ripened at the EXACT SAME time, so I really had no choice.

Therefore, I have had peaches on the brain lately (and in the stomach) and I can't help but wish they still came in crates with wonderful vintage labels like these. That's something I would never tire of...

Hey I hear this shop has some great vintage crates for sale. And the owner's really cute. Or so I hear.

I don't usually show videos but...

I can't stop watching this. That face. That voice. Those shoes. Marcel, the Shell with Shoes On, I'm in love.

Those eights are CRAZY

I have recently developed a mild obsession with vintage playing cards; I can't get over the amazing illustrations, whimsical figurines and don't forget the circus themes and mustaches a-plenty*.

I decided to scan in the cards I have for sale in the shop, so even when the cards go to their new homes, I'll never be without my mustaches*.

Buy this particularly crazy deck here.

*Ok, so this deck only has two really great mustaches, but I promise there are more decks (and mustaches) to come!

Monster Friends

Seriously thinking about bringing this set of Monster Friends by Family Tree Design and Illustration into my life. I mean, just look at the Kraken.

Colors

Kinda obsessed with the amazing colors in this photograph I took while in Cape Cod. I set it as my desktop background and I can't stop staring at the lavenders/blues/greens/oranges. I want to make everything look like this all the time.

PS: The rainbow isn't a bad touch either, I mean, it's no double rainbow but STILL.

Alexandra vs. Winter, round 1

Ok, so as far back as I can remember, I've been at war with winter and my feet are continually on the front lines. Or, if you're not into analogies or have already gotten confused with mine (like I have), what I'm trying to say is that my feet are ALWAYS unbelievably cold and therefore I am pretty much miserable from November to mid-March (as is anyone who dares accompany me and my ice cube feet to anything that even briefly involves the outdoors).

ANYway, due to this unfortunate reality, I have been on a seemingly life-long quest to find the perfect winter boot. Perfect, meaning:

1. Warm. Like stick-your-feet-in-a-furnace, borderline-3rd-degree-burn, OMG-am-I-in-a-ski-lodge toasty-warm.

2. Waterproof. And I don't mean, like sort of, kind of, whenever they feel like it. I mean like I could walk across the Atlantic Ocean (you know, because that's totally possible... anyway that's not important...) and still have deserts going on down there.

3. Adorable. Most boots that fit the first two qualifications fail miserably at being something that I'm not completely embarrassed to wear in public places. I don't want Mom Boots or anything that looks like I'm about to hike Everest, ok?

So, the moral of this story is that I still haven't found my perfectly warm, waterproof, stylish winter boot, and my feet are already getting cold at the mere mention of winter. I was recently sent a link by a kind Twitter friend to these Sorel boots, and I'm thinking these might actually be a serious contender.

Has anyone ever had a pair of these? Or do you have any other suggestions that may finally put an end to my harrowing quest? Well, don't be greedy, TELL ME GEEZ.

My feet thank you in advance, internets.

Shop Update!

I have updated the shop (yet again, I KNOW. I am on a roll this week, and you're very welcome) with some amazingly adorable (and informative) vintage Wonders of the Animal Kingdom stamp sets as well as some delightfully summery (it's not over YET!) glassware.

Also, don't forget about all the recent letterpress beauties, I just know they would LOVE to come home with you ;)

I want this.

My friend just sent these photos of her new kitten, and she's a Russian Blue! Just like Mozart! And now I want another one! Because I'm a crazy cat lady! Help!

Shop Update!

I updated the shop last night with TONS of new letterpress wood type delights, plus some other tasty goods. Be sure to check it out, the wood type goes fast (no complaining here)!

Alice Melvin

Loving Illustrator Alice Melvin's great style. See more of her work here and buy her things here.

Shop Update!

I updated the shop with a few new goodies for everyone; I especially love the amazing graphics on these vintage playing card decks (they'll be hard to part with, but if you're going to give them a good, loving home you can find them here, and here and here and here.)

And don't forget that until August 31st (my birthday!) you can receive 25% off your order of $25 or more by sending me a birthday greeting in the comments section of your PayPal order. YOU'RE WELCOME ;)

PS: How deeeelicious is that typography on those bowls? I absolutely swoon over containers that tell you what to put in them...

Sarah Gabler

Absolutely LOVING this mad-lib style wedding invite by designer/blogger Sarah Gabler. I am a total sucker for witty copy-writing and a non-traditional (read: non-sappy, and actually interesting) wedding approach.

Shameless plug: Sarah was kind enough to post about the shop on her wonderful blog, Design Me Daily. Check it out!

Erasers!

How adorable are these Japanese erasers? Every year around this time I go crazy for school supplies and it's only gotten worse since I've been out of school. Maybe one day I'll go back for my masters and have an 'excuse' to buy a truckload of these (because every adult serious about their education needs a banana eraser, right?).

Tini Mods

Just sold this amazing set of 1968 Tini Mods paper dolls, and I'm pretty much envious of every single outfit. Striped swing coats, blue plaid tights, quilted (and flocked!) jackets, patent loafers, neon pink tights, black, white, pocket watches, ballet flats, cardigans, and polka dot ties?

Karen, Donna, Terri, Julie, Cindy and Marcia are certainly the luckiest paper girls I've ever met. Check out more great ephemera in the shop!
