Sometimes...

I buy an enormous velvet painting of the Mona Lisa, and my man is embarrassed/confused by me so I have nowhere to put it.

Next on my list of tacky/fine art pieces to purchase: a paint by number of the Last Supper. I think Da Vinci would be proud.

Brooklyn Prints

Loving these Brooklyn neighborhood prints from Two Arms Inc. Right now they just have Williamsburg and Greenpoint, but they say there are more hoods to come. The minute they make a Brooklyn Heights one, bitch is mine.

BRIDESMAIDS...

... was the funniest movie I have seen in the theaters in, well, a very long time. I literally cried-laughed through the entire thing.

Kristen Wiig was awesome and she needs to be my new best friend (um, can we talk about her impression of a penis?) but Melissa McCarthy (oh hi, Sookie) completely stole the movie.

Grab every mom/friend/boyfriend you have and GO SEE THIS MOVIE.

Glendale Cemetery

I love old cemeteries, but when my friend Emily suggested that we walk through Glendale in Akron, I had no idea how amazing it would be.

Chartered in 1839, Glendale is Akron's oldest cemetery, and the final home of all of its most famous residents (the Seiberlings — founders of Goodyear — and the Buchtels, etc). I was completely unprepared for, and amazed by, the gorgeous mausoleums (each with an aged, copper door more elaborate than the last), beautiful sculptures and wonderful architecture.

The actual grounds are pretty awesome as well, and much more expansive than I had expected.

I don't know how you feel about cemeteries, but I've always loved them and the older, the better. I love reading the headstones and learning even a little bit about those that lie underneath.

At the very end of our walk we came across this obituary-style stone and I thought it was incredibly sweet: "With the gift of laughter, her house and garden always a center for her many friends." I can only hope that I'm remembered as fondly.

And if I not fondly, I would at least like my family name to be sculpted in this ahhhhmazing wood type.

Bits & Baubles

Antiquing (aka treasure hunting for the shop).

Obsessed with blooms.

And lots of tea (even the bubble variety).

Couch and chair.

Space!

My kitchen...

Where I sometimes make these...

And other times I make these.

Things I've been reading.

Things I can't stop eating.

And, most importantly, it FINALLY stopped raining (for now)!
